Drone Strike Forces Closure of Key Crimea Bridge, Disrupting Russian Logistics
A drone strike has forced the closure of the Chonhar Bridge, a critical route linking occupied Crimea to mainland Ukraine. The attack, which occurred on June 9, led to the suspension of traffic across the bridge, a vital supply line for Russian military logistics since the annexation of Crimea in 2014. Vladimir Saldo, the Kremlin-installed head of the occupied Kherson region, confirmed the suspension and advised drivers to use alternative routes. The bridge, located at the Chonhar Strait, is one of the shortest routes for Russian forces to move personnel and supplies. Despite Russian air defenses intercepting over 20 drones, some managed to hit their target. This incident follows a similar attack on the bridge earlier in the week.
