U.S. Mayors and Tech Leaders Collaborate on AI for Public Safety
A recent leadership session in Chicago brought together U.S. mayors, city technology leaders, and representatives from major tech companies like NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Dell Technologies to discuss the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in public safety. This meeting marked six months of collaboration under The U.S. Roundtable's ElevateGov AI program. The session focused on how cities are using AI to enhance public safety operations, including governance frameworks and cross-agency coordination. Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb highlighted the city's RISE initiative, which has been linked to reductions in violent crime and improved police recruitment. The program has expanded to include over 25 U.S. mayors and technology leaders, aiming to develop responsible AI solutions that address community needs.
