PA Preferred Grants Allocate $500,000 to Boost Pennsylvania Agriculture
The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has announced a new PA Preferred Marketing Grants program, offering $500,000 to support local farmers and agricultural producers in marketing their products. This initiative, announced by Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding at Oak Grove Farms, aims to strengthen Pennsylvania's agricultural sector by reimbursing promotional costs for products under the PA Preferred, PA Preferred Homegrown by Heroes, and PA Preferred Organic programs. Governor Josh Shapiro, who signed the enabling legislation in November 2023, emphasizes the program's role in supporting the state's economy and rural communities. The grants are part of a broader strategy to enhance Pennsylvania's agricultural competitiveness, with applications open until May 16, 2026.
