Governor Gianforte Leads Education Freedom Roundtable in Great Falls, Montana
Governor Greg Gianforte recently convened an educational roundtable in Great Falls, Montana, to discuss and promote the expansion of educational freedom within the state. The event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including school district leaders, teachers, students, and parents from public, private, and home school backgrounds. Governor Gianforte emphasized that no single learning environment suits every student, highlighting the success of various models such as public schools, charter schools, independent schools, home schools, and micro-schools across Montana. He noted the state's recent efforts to expand open and partial enrollment and redesign the Montana Digital Academy. The Governor also underscored the importance of empowering parents and providing greater opportunities for students, citing financial aid programs like the Big Sky Scholarships and upcoming federal tax credits for contributions to scholarship granting organizations, set to begin in 2027.
