Showers and Thunderstorms Expected in Southern Nevada
Southern Nevada, including Las Vegas, is set to experience showers and thunderstorms on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Moisture from the outer bands of Hurricane Marie, combined with a shortwave and jet streak, is driving the weather system. Rainfall amounts in the Las Vegas Valley are expected to range between 0.15 inches and 0.50 inches, with mountain areas potentially receiving up to an inch of rain. The rain will bring cooler temperatures, with a high of 85°F (29°C) in the valley, significantly below the seasonal average of 99°F (37°C). Lake Mead is also forecast to be wet, with a high of 86°F (30°C) and wave heights under one foot. The UV index for the day is low at 2. Conditions are expected to clear by Sunday night, with warmer temperatures returning for Labor Day.
