Uncertainty Surrounds Future of Qatar-Donated Air Force One After President Trump's Term
The future of a new Air Force One jet, donated by Qatar and used by President Trump, remains undecided as his second term nears its end. The Boeing 747-8, valued at approximately $400 million, was intended to be transferred to the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation. However, recent reports suggest that plans for the jet's future are still under discussion. Eric Trump, involved in developing the presidential library, indicated that an older decommissioned Air Force One might be used instead. The donation of the jet has raised ethical questions due to its foreign origin and the significant retrofitting costs incurred by the U.S. Air Force to meet security standards.
