American Woman Missing After Falling Off Boat in Bahamas, Search Underway
Authorities in the Bahamas are conducting a search for an American woman who went missing after reportedly falling off a boat. The incident occurred on Saturday when the woman and her husband, both U.S. nationals, were traveling from Hope Town to Elbow Cay on the island of Abaco. According to the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the woman fell overboard, taking the boat keys with her, which caused the engine to stop. Her husband reported that strong currents swept her out to sea, and he lost sight of her. He managed to paddle the dinghy to shore, reaching Marsh Harbor Boat Yard early Sunday morning. The search involves the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Hope Town fire officials, and the U.S. Coast Guard, which provided air support. The investigation remains in the search-and-rescue phase, and authorities are seeking information from the public.
