Texas Tornado and Georgia Wildfires: Severe Weather Continues
A powerful tornado struck northern Texas on Saturday night, resulting in at least two fatalities and significant damage across multiple neighborhoods. Emergency responders treated six individuals for storm-related injuries, and at least 20 families have been displaced. The National Weather Service warns that severe weather, including flash flooding, is likely to persist in the coming days. Meanwhile, in Georgia, two massive wildfires have burned over 40,000 acres and destroyed 120 homes. The Highway 82 fire, started by a foil balloon hitting power lines, has grown to 20,933 acres and is only 7% contained. The Pineland Road fire, ignited by welding sparks, has burned 31,976 acres and is 10% contained. Firefighters are battling over 150 wildfires in Georgia and Florida, with air quality warnings issued due to smoky haze.
