Anthropic Sets Auto Mode as Default for Claude Code Users
Anthropic has announced that Auto mode will become the default setting for all Pro, Max, and Team users of Claude Code starting August 14. This feature, initially introduced in March, allows the AI tool to make decisions autonomously on behalf of users. Anthropic's Head of Claude Code, Boris Cherny, expressed enthusiasm for the change, highlighting the benefits of Auto mode in enhancing user experience. The company plans to notify users who have already set a default permission mode, allowing them to revert to manual settings if desired. Auto mode will also be opt-in for Claude Enterprise users, with plans to make it default in the future.
