United Airlines Flight Diverted to Madison Due to Unruly Passenger
A United Airlines flight from Chicago to Minneapolis was diverted to Madison, Wisconsin, on Friday night due to an unruly passenger. The incident involved United flight 2005, which landed safely in Madison to address a security concern. According to an airline spokesperson, law enforcement officials on board quickly restrained the passenger. The Dane County Sheriff's Office deputies met the flight upon landing and removed the passenger, with federal authorities now handling the investigation. The Boeing 737 carried 147 passengers and six crew members, and no injuries were reported. A passenger, Mike Rundle, described the unruly individual as an elderly man who appeared confused and was reportedly restrained after reaching for a flight attendant. The flight continued to Minneapolis, landing early Saturday morning.
