Starmer Hosts Zelenskyy, Macron, and Merz Amidst Russian Strikes in Ukraine
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer hosted a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to discuss ongoing support for Ukraine. This meeting comes in the wake of a Russian drone strike that killed three people at a bus stop in southeastern Ukraine and damaged a storage center for spent nuclear fuel near the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The International Atomic Energy Agency expressed concern over the attack due to the large amounts of nuclear material at the facility. Meanwhile, a Ukrainian attack in Russia's Kursk region resulted in one death and one injury. The meeting of the European leaders underscores the continued support from the UK, France, and Germany, known as the E3 group, for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.
