Chandler's Latino Leaders Program Expands, Inspiring Next Generation
The city of Chandler's Latino Leaders Program is expanding, now engaging over 660 students across 10 schools. This initiative, a partnership between the City of Chandler and the Chandler Unified School District, provides students with the opportunity to interact with prominent Latino leaders from Arizona. Recently, students from various Chandler schools, including Hamilton High School, engaged with U.S. Sen. Ruben Gallego and Arizona Supreme Court Justice Maria Elena Cruz. During these sessions, students posed questions about leadership, career paths, and the leaders' life experiences and judicial philosophies. The program, which began in 2022 with 150 students at one school, aims to inspire and provide role models for the next generation, particularly by showcasing individuals in positions of power who share similar backgrounds.
