New Braunfels Man Convicted in Multi-Million Dollar Gun Smuggling Operation Supplying Mexican Cartels
A San Antonio jury has found Chandler Bradford, a New Braunfels man, guilty of operating a multi-million dollar scheme that supplied Mexican drug cartels with parts to construct over 5,700 AR-15-style rifles. Federal prosecutors, led by U.S. Attorney Justin Simmons, announced the conviction, stating that Bradford was aware the gun parts were intended for Mexican drug cartels. The operation involved using storage units in Laredo and the McAllen area as drop-off points for shipments destined for Mexico. Investigators uncovered handwritten ledgers detailing gun-part sales, text messages, and wire transfers linked to Mexican shell companies.
