Ukraine's An-28 Aircraft Now Launching Interceptor Drones Against Russian Threats
Ukraine has adapted its Antonov An-28 Cash twin-turboprop aircraft to launch interceptor drones, enhancing its capabilities against Russian long-range attack drones. This development is part of Ukraine's ongoing efforts to counter Russian drone threats, which have seen both sides rapidly advancing their technologies. The An-28, previously armed with Miniguns, now carries Ukrainian-made interceptor drones, the SkyFall P1-Sun and Merops AS-3 Surveyor, under its wings. These drones are designed to intercept and destroy Russian drones, providing a cost-effective alternative to traditional missile systems. The An-28's ability to launch drones from the air offers strategic advantages, such as increased range and reduced response time, making it a valuable asset in Ukraine's defense strategy.
