FDA Investigates Cyclosporiasis Outbreak Linked to Taylor Farms Lettuce
Federal health officials are investigating a cyclosporiasis outbreak potentially linked to lettuce from Taylor Farms. Despite a false positive test result initially implicating Taylor Farms, the FDA continues to focus on their products as the source of the outbreak. The outbreak has affected multiple states, with over 4,000 confirmed cases and more than 300 hospitalizations reported. The FDA's traceback investigation points to shredded iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms' locations in central Mexico. Taylor Farms has recalled 25 lettuce and salad mix products, and the FDA is testing produce samples crossing the U.S. border to prevent further contamination.
