US intelligence assessments have indicated that Mojtaba Khamenei, the Iranian Supreme Leader, is playing a significant role in Iran's war strategy, despite remaining largely out of public view. According to a CNN report, Khamenei is believed to be involved in directing ongoing negotiations between the US and Iran, following his injury at the onset of the US and Israel's conflict with Iran. However, the exact nature of his authority within the Iranian regime remains unclear. While some sources suggest Khamenei is actively engaged in diplomatic strategies, others argue that he may be less involved in decision-making processes, with senior officials like the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf taking on more prominent roles. The ambiguity surrounding Khamenei's involvement is compounded by his limited use of electronic communication, relying instead on in-person meetings or couriers.
