He cherished conversations with his mother, brother, sister, and support staff about his daily routines. Preston was also an avid reader, enjoying local newspapers and maintaining a large collection of books and magazines. He was rarely seen without his signature flat-bill hat, of which he had an impressive collection. He loved community outings and family travel, with a trip to Panama City Beach, Florida, being a favorite memory.
