Rochester, Minnesota, Experiences Traffic Slowdowns Due to Bridge Repairs
Drivers in Rochester, Minnesota, are facing traffic slowdowns starting Monday as a result of ongoing bridge repairs. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has indicated that these slowdowns will affect westbound 16th Street SW near Hwy 52 and eastbound Hwy 14 near Marion Road. The repair work necessitates the closure of the right lane on the 16th Street bridge, which spans the South Fork Zumbro River, and on the Hwy 14 bridge over Bear Creek. While vehicle traffic will be impacted, MnDOT has confirmed that sidewalks on both roads and the bike lane on Hwy 14 are expected to remain open. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes to mitigate congestion and delays. The repairs are projected to be completed by noon on Thursday.
