Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton has unveiled her 'ActOn Lowering Costs' agenda aimed at reducing financial burdens for Ohioans. The plan includes child tax credits ranging from $500 to $1,000 annually and a refundable tax credit for lower-income families. Acton also proposes an online platform, Ohio Rx, to lower prescription drug costs and increase transparency in healthcare pricing. Additionally, she aims to cut red tape for Medicaid enrollment and join cities in relieving medical debt. Acton’s plan addresses utility costs by promoting clean energy production and restoring energy efficiency programs. However, her agenda lacks specifics on property tax reforms, which she acknowledges as a significant issue.
