Cognizant Joins UK Government's TechFirst Programme to Boost Digital Skills
The UK government has appointed Cognizant as a strategic industry partner for its TechFirst programme, a £187 million initiative aimed at enhancing digital skills and AI learning across the UK. The programme, launched in 2025, seeks to prepare individuals for future tech careers by integrating digital skills into education and community programs. Cognizant will collaborate with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) to support over 4,000 graduates, researchers, and innovators. The company plans to offer 100 work placements to undergraduate and master's students, providing practical experience in the tech sector. This initiative aligns with the government's UK industrial strategy, focusing on six 'frontier industries'. Cognizant's involvement is part of a broader effort to address the growing demand for AI skills, with the company also expanding its Synapse skilling initiative globally.
