Orion Greene, a 16-year-old student from San Rafael, California, has led a record-breaking fundraising campaign for blood cancer research, raising $1,234,579 in memory of his father, John Greene. The campaign, part of Blood Cancer United's Student Visionaries of the Year program, involved a seven-week effort that engaged classmates, volunteers, and community members. John Greene, who had battled acute myeloid leukemia multiple times, was a dedicated advocate for blood cancer awareness and fundraising. Orion's campaign, named 'Greene Goblins,' included creative fundraising projects and merchandise sales, contributing to its success. The campaign's impact extends beyond fundraising, as it also aims to inspire leadership and community involvement among young people.
