Korea Expands 'Bleisure' Programs Amid Record Tourism Surge
Korea is experiencing a significant increase in foreign visitors, with 10.71 million arrivals in the first half of the year, marking an all-time high. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, reported that Seoul alone accounted for 8.32 million of these visitors. The surge is attributed to increased arrivals from China, Japan, and other regions. In response, Korea plans to expand 'bleisure' (business and leisure) programs for conference attendees, aiming to enhance the tourism experience by integrating business activities with leisure opportunities. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to diversify tourism offerings and boost spending, which has already seen a significant rise in foreign card spending.
