Born in Chicago on February 27, 1959, Heber grew up in Northbrook and later moved to Libertyville. He graduated from Libertyville High School in 1977 and earned a bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University in 1981. Heber's career spanned various roles in the theme park industry, including positions at Marriott's Great America, Geauga Lake, Wyandot Lake, Magic Springs, and Wild West World. He later transitioned to a management role at Public Storage before retiring in 2024. Heber spent his retirement in Edinburg, Virginia, living with his sister Cheryl and her husband Tom. Heber's life was marked by his dedication to his family, friends, and colleagues, and he was known for his infectious laugh and ability to make others feel valued.
