Highlights for Children is marking its 80th anniversary with substantial growth, particularly within its Highlights Press imprint. According to Chris Bauerle, VP of books and retail at Highlights, the imprint's year-to-date sales are up 29%, significantly outperforming the overall children's book market and the activity book category. Highlights Press has become the 17th largest children's publisher, showing strong market shares and rapid growth in categories such as games, activities, hobbies, juvenile nonfiction, and early-learning workbooks. The company attributes this success to a cultural shift away from excessive screen time for children, with parents increasingly seeking non-digital content.
