Bay Area Sees Temperature Split as Coastal Areas Cool
The San Francisco Bay Area is experiencing its classic May weather split, with cooler temperatures along the coast and warmer conditions inland. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, coastal neighborhoods like Sunset and Richmond will see highs in the upper 50s to low 60s°F (14-17°C), while eastern parts of San Francisco, such as the Mission and SoMa, will reach the upper 60s to low 70s°F (20-22°C). Inland areas, including San Jose and Morgan Hill, will be significantly warmer, with highs ranging from the mid-80s to 90°F (29-32°C). Morning clouds are expected near the coast, with partial clearing in the afternoon.
