Anthropic's Claude AI Chats Exposed by Search Engines, Raising Privacy Concerns
Private conversations conducted on Anthropic's AI platform, Claude, have been inadvertently exposed to the public through search engines like Google and Bing. This issue was first identified by Reddit users who discovered that shared conversations, which were intended to be private, became accessible to anyone with the link. The problem arises from the feature that allows users to share conversations, which are then indexed by search engines despite Anthropic's efforts to prevent this through the use of robots.txt files. The exposed data includes sensitive information such as medical records, personal details, and internal corporate data. Although many of these conversations have since been removed from search results, the incident highlights significant privacy vulnerabilities in AI chat platforms.
