GitHub Project 'late-sh' Offers Terminal-Based Social App with Real-Time Features
A new GitHub project named 'late-sh' has emerged, presenting itself as a terminal-first social application accessible via SSH. This platform aims to provide a 'cozy command-line clubhouse' for developers and computer enthusiasts. Users can connect to 'late-sh' using any SSH client to access a range of features, including real-time global chat, a shared activity feed, and audio streaming with a companion CLI for local playback and visualizer data. The application also incorporates terminal games such as 2048, Sudoku, Nonograms, Minesweeper, and Solitaire. Additionally, it includes a web frontend for landing pages, profiles, and a public listen page. The project is built as a Rust workspace with five crates, backed by PostgreSQL, Icecast, and Liquidsoap, and is open for source reading, local development, audits, and contributions. The public hosted 'late.sh' service is the canonical deployment, with the code being source-available under an FSL protection period.
