India-Japan Seminar Promotes Workforce Cooperation and Mobility
A seminar held in Tokyo, organized by the Embassy of India in Japan and ASEAN ONE Co. Ltd, focused on enhancing workforce cooperation between India and Japan. The event gathered 250 representatives from Japanese companies, academic institutions, and workforce mobility stakeholders. Discussions centered on long-term cooperation in skilled workforce mobility and human resource development. Key topics included expanding Japanese language and testing centers in India, strengthening collaboration between Japanese employers and Indian skilling institutions, and building trusted workforce mobility pathways. Toshiaki Nishikawa, Chairman & CEO of ASEAN GROUP Co. Ltd., expressed optimism about future cooperation, highlighting a potential personnel exchange program involving 50,000 people over the next decade. Vandana Gurnani, Secretary of the Ministry of Labour & Employment, emphasized India's role as a global workforce partner, supported by its demographic strength and robust skilling ecosystem.
