UNICEF Official Advocates for Sharing China's Child Health and Development Expertise with Developing Nations
Sanjay Wijesekera, UNICEF Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, has called for China to share its advancements in child health, early childhood development, education, and child protection with other developing countries through South-South cooperation. Speaking at the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo in Nanning, China, Wijesekera praised China's policies and progress in supporting families, expanding childcare services, and fostering a child-friendly society. He highlighted China's nationwide childcare subsidy program, announced last year, which is expected to provide 3,600 yuan (approximately 540 U.S. dollars) annually for each child under three, aiming to support early childhood development and alleviate the costs of raising children.
