Syracuse Health and Wellness Event Donates 900 Pounds of Produce to Community
The fifth annual Health and Wellness Event in Syracuse, New York, successfully distributed 900 pounds of fresh produce to community members. This year's event, held on Saturday, saw a significant increase in attendance, with approximately 750 people participating, compared to 400 last year. The initiative was a collaborative effort involving five local organizations: Peace, Inc., CARE, Syracuse Housing Authority, the Brady Faith Center, and Meals on Wheels. Peace, Inc. joined the partnership for the first time this year. In addition to the produce giveaway, the event featured 40 vendors and provided backpacks and school supplies to attendees. Lisa Hart, Grants Management Director for the Syracuse Housing Authority, highlighted the benefit of combining forces, stating that it allows for a larger event and reaches more children.
