GKN Aerospace Faces Lawsuits Over Chemical Tank Threat in Orange County
Residents of Orange County, California, are pursuing legal action against GKN Aerospace following a hazardous situation involving a compromised chemical storage tank at the company's Garden Grove facility. The tank, containing 7,000 gallons of methyl methacrylate, a flammable chemical used in acrylic plastics manufacturing, poses a significant risk of explosion or leakage. Approximately 50,000 residents have been evacuated due to the threat. The X-Law Group P.C. and Presidio Law Firm LLP have filed a class-action lawsuit seeking accountability for the evacuation orders, property disruption, potential health risks, and diminished property values. The lawsuit alleges that GKN Aerospace failed to protect the community from the known hazardous condition. The Orange County District Attorney's Office has set up an anonymous tipline to gather information about the incident.
