Sloth World Attraction in Florida Faces Tragedy as Dozens of Sloths Die
Thirty-one sloths intended for a new attraction, Sloth World, in Orlando, Florida, have died before the facility's opening. According to a report by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), many of the sloths died due to inadequate conditions at a Florida warehouse where they were housed. The report indicates that some sloths arrived already dead or in poor health, and others succumbed to the unsuitable environment, which lacked proper heating. The sloths, native to tropical rainforests, were exposed to temperatures significantly lower than their natural habitat, contributing to their deaths.
