New Study Highlights Thymus Gland's Role in Longevity and Health
Recent research published in Nature suggests that the thymus gland, traditionally considered less significant after childhood, plays a crucial role in determining longevity and health. The study, led by oncologist Hugo Aerts from Harvard University, analyzed data from over 27,000 individuals. It found a strong correlation between a healthy thymus and reduced risks of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and premature death. The research utilized AI to assess the thymus's condition, revealing that individuals with healthier glands had significantly lower mortality and disease risks.
