U.S. Army Seeks Suppliers for Obsolete Bradley Fighting Vehicle Parts to Support Ukraine
The U.S. Army is actively seeking defense firms capable of supplying rare and obsolete parts for Ukraine's M2A2 ODS-SA Bradley infantry fighting vehicles. A sources-sought notice issued by the US Army Contracting Command - Detroit Arsenal last week indicates a need for companies with immediate access to, or a viable plan to source, highly specialized, legacy, variant-specific components. These critical parts, including turret drive control units, transmission control modules, ammunition chutes, specialized target-acquisition-system hardware, military-grade lens lights, and vehicle fasteners, are currently impacted by supplier obsolescence. The Army is also looking for contractors to train Ukrainian mechanics and provide necessary equipment, tools, and materials for relevant training. This initiative aims to ensure the continued repair and sustainment of these vehicles, which have proven crucial for Ukraine's defense efforts, despite suffering losses.
