According to Wolff, Harp, who had no prior significant background, gained increasing influence over President Trump's attention, beliefs, and opinions during his campaign and subsequent administration. She became a public face for President Trump to the Republican Party, Congress, and the press, and was seen as the "most important person in his political life," and gradually, his personal life. Wolff stated that sources within the White House expressed worry and annoyance over Harp's growing authority, prompting them to share information with him.
