Survey Reveals Arizona Tops List for Biggest Gambling Losses, Nevada Ranks 12th
A recent survey conducted by VIP Grinders, an independent poker and iGaming affiliate, has revealed surprising results regarding gambling losses across the United States. Despite Nevada's reputation as the gambling capital, it does not rank in the top 10 states for the biggest gambling losses. Instead, Arizona leads with the highest average worst-ever single-session gambling loss at $14,989. Mississippi follows with an average loss of $9,744, while Nevada ranks 12th. The survey, which included 2,000 gamblers, also highlighted that a significant percentage of gamblers in these states tend to conceal their losses from loved ones, with Mississippi having the highest rate of secrecy at 59%. The findings suggest that gambling losses are a widespread issue beyond the well-known casino hubs.
