MEDSIR's New Therapeutic Strategy Shows Promise in Advanced Prostate Cancer Treatment
MEDSIR, an international oncology research company, has presented the final results of its ZZ-FIRST study at the ASCO scientific congress in Chicago. The study explores a new therapeutic strategy for patients with high-volume metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer. This approach combines enzalutamide, a next-generation hormonal treatment, with talazoparib, a PARP inhibitor, to intensify standard therapy. The goal is to block tumor progression before the cancer develops resistance to treatment. The study enrolled 54 patients from Spanish centers and demonstrated that the combination therapy resulted in a radiographic progression-free survival of 45.3 months, compared to 31.1 months with enzalutamide alone. This suggests a significant improvement in delaying tumor progression.
