Eastern Illinois University Career Services Relocates to Enhance Student Accessibility
Eastern Illinois University's Career Services has officially opened a new location in the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union's east wing, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Monday. The new space, which opened on September 14, aims to provide a more student-focused environment. Previously situated in the Student Services Building, Career Services now occupies its main office on the third floor and an additional space on the first floor of the east wing. This relocation is part of a broader initiative to make the union a more student-facing building, according to Eastern Illinois University President Jay Gatrell. Other departments, including Fraternity and Sorority Life and the Office of Leadership and Engagement, have also been moved within the union, while the Housing and Dining office relocated to the Human Services Building. Director of Career Services Bobbi Kingery highlighted that this new setup offers increased visibility and demonstrates the institution's commitment to career development.
