Israel Secretly Deploys IDF Troops to Azerbaijan Amid Iran Conflict
Israel has reportedly deployed special commando soldiers to Azerbaijan near its border with Iran during a recent conflict involving Israel and the U.S. against Iran. According to sources cited by CNN, these forces operated from multiple locations in southern Azerbaijan, including a site approximately 62 miles from the Iranian city of Tabriz. Initially intended as emergency rescue teams, their role expanded to include military and intelligence operations, such as intelligence collection and drone operations. This deployment is part of a broader network of covert Israeli military sites across the Middle East, including in the UAE, Iraq, and Somaliland. The Azerbaijani embassy in the U.S. has denied these claims, stating that Azerbaijan's territory was not used for operations against third countries.
