Wild Animal Attacks Cats in Bath, Maine, Raising Safety Concerns

The Bath Police Department has noted that most of these incidents have occurred in the central part of the city. In response, the police are advising residents to keep their cats indoors or supervise them when outside, ideally using a leash or a secure outdoor enclosure known as a 'catio.' Additionally, residents are urged not to leave pet food outside, which could attract wildlife. The police emphasize that Bath remains a safe community but want residents to take reasonable precautions to protect their pets. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious or aggressive wildlife to the Bath Police Department or call 911 in emergencies.
