Ukrainian President Zelenskyy Rejects Territorial Concessions to Russia Amid Peace Plan Discussions
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has firmly stated that Ukraine will not concede any territory to Russia, despite ongoing pressures and proposals. In an online press conference, Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine has no legal or moral right to cede land, referencing both Ukrainian law and international law. This declaration comes as Ukraine prepares to present a revised peace plan to the United States, following a stagnation in talks over a U.S.-proposed peace initiative. The U.S. plan, initially proposed by the Trump administration, suggested that Ukraine should give up the Donbas region, which constitutes about 20% of Ukraine's territory and has been largely occupied by Russian forces. Zelenskyy has been in discussions with European leaders, including those from the UK, France, and Germany, to solidify a European stance on the matter.
