Indiana Woman Faces New Fraud Charge After Allegedly Falsifying Child's Illness for Financial Gain
Katherine Jackson, a 42-year-old woman from Indiana, is facing a new fraud charge unrelated to her previous accusations of claiming her child was terminally ill to gain financial benefits and a Make-A-Wish trip. Jackson, who previously resided in Decatur, is accused of defrauding an employee of one of her former attorneys by taking money for a car she never delivered. The incident occurred last month when Jackson allegedly convinced the victim, who worked part-time at a law firm, that she could purchase a vehicle at a better price due to her supposed auto dealer's license. The victim paid Jackson $8,000 for a car that was never delivered, and Jackson allegedly requested additional funds, citing delays due to repairs and tariffs. This new charge adds to Jackson's legal troubles, as she is already scheduled for trial in January for previous charges of neglect and fraud related to her daughter's alleged medical condition.
