Howard County Officials and Police Launch National Night Out to Boost Crime Prevention
Howard County is set to host its National Night Out event on August 4 at Color Burst Park in Columbia. The event, organized by the police department’s Community Outreach Division, aims to foster community engagement and support for local crime prevention initiatives. County Executive Calvin Ball, Representative Sarah Elfreth, County Council Chair Opel Jones, and Acting Police Chief Terrence Benn will be present to welcome attendees. The event will feature police and fire displays, live music, child-friendly activities, games, and giveaways. Additionally, 20 neighborhood block parties have been organized throughout the county to further engage residents in crime prevention efforts.
