Three Dead in Suspected Arson and Stabbing at Gifu Cake Shop
A suspected arson and stabbing incident at the Sunrise confectionery shop in Motosu, Gifu Prefecture, resulted in three fatalities. The incident occurred on Saturday night, with a fire breaking out around 9 p.m. Local authorities reported that two bodies were found at the scene, and three other individuals were hospitalized, one of whom later died. An emergency call to the police indicated that someone had been stabbed, gasoline was sprayed, and a fire erupted. The Gifu Prefectural Police department has launched an investigation into the incident. Investigative sources suggest that a 70-year-old male corporate executive from Mizuho, who died at the hospital, may have been involved. The manager of the cake shop, 66-year-old Satomi Sono, and a 65-year-old man were also hospitalized, with their conditions currently unknown.
