The advice includes managing soil health, maintaining drainage systems, and using digital tools to monitor crop health. The focus is on preventing damage before the onset of heavy rains, which can lead to root oxygen loss, nutrient displacement, and increased susceptibility to diseases and pests. The regions most at risk include Los Ríos, Guayas, Manabí, and Esmeraldas, where crops like bananas, cacao, rice, maize, and plantains are particularly vulnerable.
