Nebraska Opens Applications for Rural Health Workforce Incentive Program to Boost Healthcare Access
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has opened applications for the Nebraska Rural Health Workforce Incentive program. This initiative aims to provide financial incentives to healthcare professionals who relocate to or continue serving in rural Nebraska counties. The program targets areas outside of Douglas, Lancaster, and Sarpy counties, focusing on strengthening recruitment, retention, and the expansion of clinical services. Eligible healthcare providers must commit to serving for five years in a rural community and accept Medicaid, working in various healthcare settings such as rural health clinics, nursing homes, and mental health clinics.
