Rotron Aerospace Validates SkyLance Autonomous Platform in Successful Firing Trial
Rotron Aerospace has successfully demonstrated its SkyLance long-range One-Way Effector (OWE) platform during a recent firing trial. This trial validated the propulsion and system performance characteristics of the platform, which is designed for delivering precision payloads over extended distances in contested environments. The SkyLance system utilizes proprietary UK-developed propulsion technology, offering improved range, endurance, and efficiency compared to traditional systems. It is engineered for high-volume deployment and features onboard autonomy for navigation and targeting in GPS-denied and electronically contested environments. The platform integrates with Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and command-and-control networks to enhance its operational capabilities. This demonstration follows the acquisition of Rotron by Ondas Inc., aimed at expanding UK defense capabilities and accelerating domestic production.
