Chicago Police Officer Killed in Hospital Shooting; Second Officer Critical
A Chicago police officer, John Bartholomew, was fatally shot by a suspect receiving treatment at Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital while in police custody. The incident occurred on Saturday, and a second officer, who remains unnamed, was critically injured. The suspect, initially arrested on suspicion of robbery, managed to flee the hospital after the shooting but was later apprehended. The Chicago Police Department is investigating how the suspect obtained a weapon, as he was under law enforcement supervision and had been searched upon arrival at the hospital.
