Israeli Man Convicted for Using Foreign Passport to Enter Restricted Countries
An Israeli man, Lior Matan Weinstein, who holds Romanian citizenship, has been convicted for unlawfully entering Iraq, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia using a foreign passport. According to the indictment, Weinstein traveled to these countries, which are legally restricted for Israeli citizens without special permission. The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court lifted a gag order on the case, allowing the publication of the indictment filed by the Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office. Weinstein admitted to the facts presented in the indictment and was convicted. The prosecution emphasized the public interest in publishing the case to highlight the criminal implications of entering prohibited countries.
