Indian Mangoes Festival in Seattle Highlights Cultural and Economic Ties
The Consulate General of India in Seattle hosted the Mango Magic Festival, showcasing seven varieties of Indian mangoes. The event was supported by Washington state officials, including Lt. Governor Denny Heck and State Senators Tina Orwall, Manka Dhingra, and Vandana Slatter. The festival aimed to promote Indian mangoes in the U.S. market, featuring varieties such as Alphonso, Kesar, and Langra. The event included presentations by industry experts on the cultural significance of mangoes in India. In 2024, Indian mango exports to the U.S. grew by 19%, highlighting the fruit's importance as an export product.
